Nelsonville is a sleepy little town in southeast Ohio. It lays between Athens and Logan Ohio. Nelsonville has an interesting past which is preserved by a few industrious volunteer groups and individuals. It was a coal town, a clay town, a railroad town, and a canal town. Nelsonville is home to one of Ohio's best 2 year colleges, Hocking College.

Nelsonville is a popular tourist stop on State Route 33. People come from all around to ride on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, and listen to concerts at the Opera House. The downtown has been preserved and many homes in the area reflect it's victorian heritage. Nelsonville has some fun annual events such as the Paul Bunyan Show, the Parade of the hills, and Thunder in the Valley fireworks.

Nelsonville's main road has been completely refinished recently by ODOT. They did a great job. A bypass around Nelsonville is in the works to the joy of some and dismay to others.

We have the largest cinema between Logan and Athens. We've got broadband internet and cable TV. Nelsonville has a nice public pool and some really great specialty shops.
